my husband  did not need the stamp to travel, the letter was more than enough... and the biometric appoint was after we had travel

The letter and expired GC.

In this case there is a stamp in passport instead of GC. Extension letter doesn't extend I-551 (ADIT) stamps.

You have had quite the challenge getting to this point -- SO glad to see that you were able to finally get an appointment and get up to date with the process. I hope your husband did something nice for you to make up for the stress of missing that first appointment! :P

yeah he did do something... he gave me a massive headache😁

I think in this particular case @OldUser is responding to someone who had their physical card taken from them and so they only have the stamp. When you travel with the extension letter you still need to show the expired card, which this person no longer has. They were wondering if the extension letter applies to the stamp, which it does not.

ahhhhh.... ok, well he was not asked for the card....

Oh wow, I think that is just an exception -- you got someone who didn't actually do their job properly, though it probably made your travel easier/faster. The extension letter says that it is good for (24 or 48 months) from the expiration date on the card and that the notice, presented with the card, is evidence of your status. The letter alone is not enough proof of your current status because it doesn't say when your green card actually expires on it.

My husband only had to travel once on the extension letter before receiving the 10 year card, but they looked at both the card and the letter.

that was odd he did not aske for the card.... another thing i have noticed is that, before when entering the US they stamped passports... now they don`t

I Know I am very early thinking about this, but has anyone done digging on Naturalization procedure while we wait for removal of condition since most people will be eligible for citizenship before the conditions on their green card are lifted.

Any particular question about it? Yes, as soon as you become eligible you can apply under 3 year rule, if you meet physical presence, continuous residence, marital union and good moral character requirements.

Hi everyone,

we filed 183 days ago. MSC #. We received the 48 month extension letter a little over 3 weeks ago, but no biometrics appointment. Should we be worried or does that mean the will use prints from his CR1 visa process?

just wondering. We travelled fine with the extension letter so I am in no rush and he will apply to citizenship this year. Josh wondering if is unusual to wait so long to biometric appointment.

thanks!

If you meet physical presence, continuous residence, good moral character, marital union you can apply.

You can usually apply 3 years minus 90 days of being LPR.

Just documenting this.

We reached out to USCIS again (probably the 8th time by now) regarding biometrics.  We got the same canned answer.  So, this whole thing that "inquiries and reaching out to USCIS" yields biometrics is unlikely to work - at least for those at YSC.
