Need more info.  Do you have an expired Green card and valid extension letter?  Where are you now?

It would help if you had a timeline.

Yes, my Green Card expired and yes I do have a valid extension letter but they are taking forever, I'm now in my country Guatemala, I was suppose to fly back to USA this morning and the Airport in Guatemala did not allow me to get on the plane because my passport was not stamped.

I left on emergency my mother was very sick, I do currently have an attorney she did not tell me I need it to get my passport stamped she told me the letter would be sufficient.

I could ask my Attorney on Tuesday but I'm really curious what is going to happen now.

From the document I linked above:

"Expired Conditional Resident: Two-year validity

• A Conditional Resident with an expired PRC (with a two-year expiration date) may be boarded if also in possession of a Notice of Action (Form I-797).

• The Notice of Action extends the validity of the card for a specified length of time, generally 18 months.

• Do not board the traveler if they are not in possession of Form I-797."

Also calmly and politely ask them to identify  the staff members on duty , so that you can advise airlines corporate about need for training PLUS innocently ask if DOT is authority such issues should be reported to or if they can provide you with appropriate contact info…..OR any such dialogue you see fit.

I do believe a generous Credit Voucher or possible upgrade is in your IMMEDIATE FUTURE.

Good Luck

Exactly this, They were not going to let my wife on our cruise one time when she just had her AP card because it wasn't a green card. I argued with them for 20 min saying its good. Luckily at just about all cruise ports CBP has officers there, and a inspection POE there for cruise ship returns. I made them call the CBP liaison up from the CBP office, and he verified that she could travel on her AP ( It's what it is for). Needless to say got the CHEERS beverage package, and a balcony room upgrade for their ignorance. LOL

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

My husband is still at the airport trying to get back home, I told him to stay put and not go anywhere, let's see what happens.

I'm thinking he should be fine. He has a green card and I-797, so it's just a matter of getting the right people involved.

Right and I think right now it's difficult, he told me everybody is already going home, he even mentioned people are laughing at him.  He did mentioned other airlines do verify immigration status this airline does not by the way it's Aeromexico airline.

Somebody said to mention what airline is it.
