ok thanx...so what is considered fully vaccinated ? If I have 1 covid shot here , do I need to get the rest in the US ?

3 shots  of Moderna, pfizer or 1 of J &J plus a booster, is considered fully vaccinated. I do not believe that any one follow up to ensure you get the second

However .. while the K1 medical may be satisfied by the first dose only, you may find that you are required to be fully vaccinated in order to enter the US as a non US citizen/ LPR

  • If you are a non-U.S. citizen who is a nonimmigrant (not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or traveling to the United States on an immigrant visa), you will need to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before you travel by air to the United States from a foreign country.

fully vaccinated is 3 shots 2 primary and 1 booster.  CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, including all primary series doses and boosters for their age group:

😓 sorry to hear his journey included that. Yes we may think we are done with COVID but its sure not done with us.

Airlines are required to check that passengers meet destination , airline, departing country snd transit country requirements before issuing the boarding padd. Talking about 4 different things there  😬

I'm not sure where that came from. I believe one is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving 1 J&J shot or the 2 primary doses of Moderna, Pfizer, etc...

From the page: A booster dose is not needed to meet this requirement.

fully vaccinated is 3 shots 2 primary and 1 booster.  CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, including all primary series doses and boosters for their age group:

Same article says this is considered fully vaccinated:

Are you Fully Vaccinated for Air Travel to the United States?

You are considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks (14 days) after your dose of an accepted single-dose vaccine
  • 2 weeks (14 days) after your second dose of an accepted 2-dose series
  • 2 weeks (14 days) after you received the full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine (not placebo) in a clinical trial
  • 2 weeks (14 days) after you received 2 doses of any “mix-and-match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines administered at least 17 days apart*

If you don’t meet these requirements, you are NOT considered fully vaccinated. A booster dose is not needed to meet this requirement.

A person who has received only one dose of an accepted 2-dose series and has recovered from COVID-19 does not meet this definition, and therefore is NOT considered fully vaccinated for travel to the United States.

*CDC has not recommended the use of mix-and-match COVID-19 vaccine primary series. However, such strategies are increasingly common in many countries outside of the United States. Therefore, for the purpose of interpreting vaccination records for travel to the United States, CDC will accept combinations of accepted COVID-19 vaccines.
