Parent Petition - Household Member - Separate Forms I-864a Part 5

Thanks in advance.  My wife became a citizen a few years ago and we've been working on bringing her parents over.  My I-864a was rejected twice because we weren't aware I needed to click the "Add Household Member" button instead of under my wife's docs, which wasn't clearly explained in the reason for rejection.  Since the phone line no longer accepts calls and we weren't receiving guidance we understood, we contacted a congressional aide who's been communicating with the NVC.  Once they clarified the issue, I added myself as a household member today under each of my wife's parents' accounts and uploaded the same Form I-864a, with her father listed as Intending Immigrant Number 1 in Part 5 (Lines 1a - 5) and her mother listed as Intending Immigrant Number 2 in Part 5 (Lines 6a - 10).

It occurred to me after doing so that it might have been necessary to list her mom first in Part 5 of her I-864a but I'm not clear on this.   I've emailed the congressional aide for clarification and asked them to remove the I-864a and, if necessary, remove me as a household member if Part 5 of the I-864a I've submitted for her is completed incorrectly so I can start over.  Will the same I-864a work for each parent's account, or will I need to upload one with her mother listed first under her account?  If so, will I need to be removed as a household member under her mom?

How did your wife fill out the i864? It's the same way for i864a.

For the father: one i864 and one i864a, don't include the mother as the intending immigrant.

For the mother: Separate i864 and i864a, don't include the father as the intending immigrant.

I might be misunderstanding the Form I-864a instructions but this seems to indicate I should include the spouse in Part 5:

Item Numbers 1.a. - 31.b. If the sponsor you are promising to make your income available to is sponsoring the principal intending immigrant (the sponsor should have “Yes” as his or her answer to Part 3., Item Number 1. of his or her Form I-864), you should list the intending immigrant in Part 5., Item Numbers 1.a. - 1.c. and then list any spouse and any and all children that are listed in the sponsor’s Form I-864 in the spaces that follow in Part 5. of Form I-864A.

The father is the principle immigrant on one i864 and subsequent i864a.

The mother is the principle immigrant on another i864 and subsequent i864a.

This section isn't applicable here. Nobody is a derivative immigrant here. So leave this section out. As i already said, the father and the mother are both principle immigrants based on their separate i130s and so need separate i864/i864a.

Thanks again. I reviewed the docs I previously submitted and the I-864 follows the format you suggest, namely, one for each principle.  The problem remains in that I submitted the same I-864a with my wife's father listed as principle.  As such, I'm guessing her father's docs are fine but her mother's aren't because she's not listed as principle on her I-864a.

Since I've already submitted them, will I have to wait three months for her mom's to be rejected, or is there some other way to provide a corrected I-864a?  I see under my submitted docs there's a section labeled "Additional AOS Supporting Documentation for (my name)" with an option to add a document.  Am I able to upload a corrected I-864a this way in order to having to wait another three months?  Will the NVC employee consider it?  I'd be happy to include a cover sheet or similar identifying it as corrected.
