You guys have helped me so much throughout this journey so I wanted to share my timeline as a small thank you:

From F1 student to US Citizen via marriage:

May 2019: Initial filing (I-485 adjustment of status)

May 2019: Biometrics notice in mail

June 2019: Biometrics done

September 2019: Interview notice

October 2019 (1st week): Work Authorization card received

October 2019 (2nd week): Green Card interview and approval

October 2019 (3rd week): 2 year Green Card received

August 2021: Filed for Removal of conditions (I-751)

January 2022: Case updated to show fingerprints are not needed to be retaken

May 2022 (1st week): Removal of conditions approved (no interview)

May 2022 (2nd week): 10 year Green Card received

September 2022: Filed for citizenship

February 2023: Interview scheduled

April 2023: N-400 Interview and same day oath ceremony

Here is how long it took for each filing:

It took 5 months to get 2-year green card (between filing I-485 and approval)

It took 9 months to get 10-year green card (between filing I-751 and approval)

It took 7 months to get citizenship (between filing I-400 and approval)

In total it took 4 years to go from being on a student visa (F1) to becoming a US Citizen.

Notes:

We did not use any lawyers.

We are located in Los Angeles, CA.

Tips:

Research, research, research. (VisaJourney, ***removed***, and Reddit's u/uscis were of immense help)

Take as many documents with you as you can, but only show what is asked of you.

Be kind, confident, and honest.

Hi everyone,

Folks who have local office Raleigh.

Just wanted to know if anyone received interview letter. I saw a post that someone who filed in November got the interview at Raleigh local office.

My local office would be Raleigh but I haven’t got an interview letter as of yet. The only letter I got was the 48 month extension letter a few weeks ago.

Hi all, I had my oath ceremony on Friday but because there were so many new citizens we weren’t asked to sign the certificate in front of an IO nor were given too many details on how to sign it.  I’m finding conflicting information online. My certificate has a tiny signature next to my picture which is the one I’ve used for all my immigration related paperwork and IDs.  I thought of using that one,  although it’s only my first name and middle initial.

What has been your experience ? What signature did you use?

Great news! Almost there 🙏🏾

Thanks! Had my interview yesterday, it was the easiest 15 minutes interview! I’m waiting for a letter for my Oath Ceremony, I’m hoping it’ll be in Cabrillo Monument 😊.

Today I received a notification saying my 10 years Green Card from I-751 is being produced and will be sent to me. I filed it July 9 2021 and no biometric taken and no interview.

However, I'm still waiting for my N-400 interview appointment. Files under 3 years rule since Sep 1 2021. I thought it would be a combo interview situation anytime soon. 🥹

Well, at least you won't have to deal with the extension letters.  Hopefully, your N-400 interview will be scheduled soon.
