Hello, I have a similar situation, I filed my I-751 in August 2021 and the case is still pending. My N-400 form I submitted online on August 13, 2022, they reused my biometric information on October 2021(same thing happened with my I-751). I check every day but no news yet. I read cases similar to ours and the common aspect is the delay in the approval of I-751.

Update: My interview is scheduled for March 20. My I-751still pending.

Philadelphia field office.

USCIS page is showing:

Estimated time* until case decision:
approx. 29 days

I am not sure what does it mean though.

Thanks

I had my N-400 interview this morning at the Minneapolis FO. Thankfully, the office was open today and I didn't have to deal with rescheduling due to the office being closed the last two days because of the snow storm. The interview was pretty straight forward and I passed the civics test but the outcome was "decision could not be made". The IO explained that my A-file is in transit and that needs to be reviewed as well. I asked if it was due to my I-751 but also reiterated that my I-751 was approved. The IO said they have to do some "due diligence". N-400 status still shows Interview Was Scheduled.

The interview itself and questions were straightforward, nothing out of the ordinary. The IO was personable and made me feel very comfortable. I brought some additional evidence along like W2s for 2022, more recent statements for the evidence I had already submitted and any originals (as applicable) but the IO did not ask for anything specific. The IO did not allow my spouse to accompany me to the interview. The IO asked personals questions about my application (address, # of times both of us were married, # of kids, plans to have kids, international trips, club membership) that she updated and then the standard questions that go with each application (are you willing to take the oath of allegiance, etc.).

Documentation provided to the IO (all of it was returned back to me):

  • Expired Green Card
  • I-751 Approval (since I don't have the new green card yet)
  • Driver's license
  • List of international trips I've taken since N-400 filing

Civics questions:

  • Rights of US citizens
  • Who wrote the Federalist Papers?
  • How many amendments does the constitution have?
  • We elect a president for how many years?
  • One of the longest rivers in the US
  • Why does the flag have 50 stars?

Reading: Who lives in the White House?

Writing: The president lives in the White House.

Interview scheduled for June 20th!

I had my interview and the oath ceremony was on the same day so I am officially American now and the journey is finally over!

Civics questions that I was asked:

- Who makes federal laws?

- Name one war during the 1900's

- If the president can no longer serve, who becomes president?

- What did Martin Luther King do?

- What happened on 9/11

- Why some states have more representative?

I had to read ''Who was Abraham Lincoln'' and to write ''Abraham Lincoln was president during the civil war" and then just some basics questions on what my husband was doing for work, what I was doing, if we had kids, if I filed taxes, if I was ever arrested etc.

Overall it was pretty easy - Good luck to all of those still waiting!

Wanted to share good news! After waiting for a year and 4 months, our N-400 interview is finally scheduled for February! We tried everything- congressional inquiry, USCIS service request, and finally ombudsman. Not sure if it all helped, but nevertheless, we are so relieved! The I-751 is still pending from August, 2021. I hope it all gets processed at the same interview. I will post updates next month. If anybody from August 2022 is still waiting- stay strong, your day will come!!!
