Case Transfer request = what to expect???

Hi all,

last night we called and found out the bad news as well, there will be 4 months for us without any intervew.

My husband called the embassy in my Romania and they said they would accept the file.

We asked NVC they said it would take them 2-4 weeks to review the application than another 2 weeks to transfer and than is up to the embassy in Bucharest.

So we started that.

What we found out is that for CR-1s only for MONTREAL NVC schadules the intervews. In all other places the schaduling is done locally... not sure what that means... but on well. Just wanted to let you know.

About the move: please let me know what to expect. I have seen that some people got the file transferred to Van, How long did it take? Please let me know ...

I am not sure if the decission is good or not... not sure... they said is ok, the embassy there in Ro is very open , they answer our phone calls in minutes... not sure... really not sure....

In the meanwhile I feel like pulling my hair out, between 3 countries now, with a new born baby... and so much uncertanty.... I am just trying to keep things together... and not loose it... would be so easy... you know...

07.10.2007 Called NVC - no word...

we are thinking to transfer the file to Romania

I have double citizenship...asked NVC they said we need to request that

07.11.2007 Called the embassy in Ro- we need to

get a special waver to have transferred since residence in Toronto Canada

07.11.2007 Sent e-mail to the embassy in Ro to request approval.

07.26.2007 Call from embassy in Romania THEY HAVE OUR FILE THERE

when do we WANT the interview!!!

went there the very morning and brought pictures and get the directions for medicals

they asked for an extra original that was not requested before...

we brought it all in... interview on 08.13.2007 VISA granted right there

checked in US on 08.28.2007

If you are filing for CR-1, Montreal is the only consulate in Canada who performs the interviews.

People have managed to get their K1 and K3 applications transferred from Montreal to Vancouver, but lately they've also been cracking down on those transfers.

I'm not really sure what to expect from the consulate in Romania. I guess find out exactly when the NVC is transferring your case and then call Romania a week later to see if it got there. They can tell you what to expect next or an interview date.
