I have my Naturalization interview in a few weeks. I noticed the interview letter specified to bring:

'Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States.'

I am applying under the 3 year rule and my current passport was issued in 2018 (which I received my visa in). This passport covers the entire time that I've been a greencard holder.

Is it essential that I bring the expired passport? (to show 5 years worth of history if I am applying under the 3 year rule) It is back in my home country so would need to retrieve it.

Thanks

if u can get it in time ,  then,  yes

but the renewed passport with any travel since it was issued is the important part

USCIS has already seen the expired one and all the travel connected to it , they probably reviewed before scheduling this interview

Nope. I didn't even carry my PP to the interview

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
