Hi Guys,

i would like to ask for the proof of on-going relationship, me and my fiance just communicate by whatsapp chat and everyday for the last 6 months.

for this evidence should we capture the whole conversation from the start to end?? or you guys just capture the necessary chat like per week?

thanks, appreciate your comment :)

I would just send in few chats and make them brief.

Hi guys, its me again..

i was following the k1 visa journey timeline and read all of the requirement, i tried to search this subject and did not found it.

i know the USCIS doesnt mentioned about the requirement of "relationship under 2 years before applied k1 visa",

i want to prepare the whole complete documents without RFE

Me and my fiance already know each other for 3 months and officially for 3 months, we would like to getting marry once i already in united states. we already meet 1 time and spending time on the trip for 1.5 months before and decide for getting marry later. we have all of the evidence for photo, stamp passport, hotel receipt during our trip.

As you can see our relationship still under 1 year..

my question is,

1. is it enough without  make statement of witness? if so, does anyone get the noa2?

2.  also watched on youtube need to proof of genuine of relationship. is it necessary ?

my fiance so busy for work and still did not make a wedding plan, my fiance said we will make a plan once my arrival in united states.

thank you and appreciate your comment below

Disclaimer, what follows is my personal guesses, partially enhanced through reading other posts on here. So, here goes.

At the end of the day, USCIS may look at passport stamps as the most official proof of one's connection. A couple has met, or it hasn't; a couple has spent enough time together as compared to other similar couples that happened to come across the officer's desk that day, or it has not. If one's relationship is short in nature, it'd have to be proven to be ongoing and strong. I'd prepare for an RFE, and I would ensure to meet my soulmate again at least once. Pictures can be doctored, and, frankly, witnesses can be bought. But those plant ticket receipts; those new passport stamps drive the game home.

I would like to state that wanting to marry just after three months is a definite red flag. So, I would address it with additional great detail available for the next officer from the get-go. A detailed plan of the wedding ceremony. A description of how you're sharing common interests. A list of all the commonalities between the two of you (biological or not). Do realize you're going to be questioned: prepare evidence from the start as to why you shouldn't be. And have it on stand-by for the RFE.

What my fiance did was he captured part of the conversation (mostly the meaningfull one which we talk about future etc) and have a representative for each month. I'm not saying this is the best example but I'm just sharing what we did. Hope this helps :)

  • 7 months later...

I met my boyfriend in Indonesia 8 months after we met online and I sent in the K 1 Visa application 3 months after we met in person and it was approved in 8 months - sent in July 2017 and and approved Feb 2018.  In any case have your boyfriend filed the K1 application yet?
