Due to torque as well as weight, EVs go thru tires more quickly, perhaps as much as twice as fast.  Obviously, driving style plays a role as well.

But there are specialized, more expensive EV tires one can buy to offset this phenomenon.  Of course, other than a battery, tires about the only other regular MX item for an EV, minus a failed motor, other than mice destroying wiring.  

As I posted previously, I spent about $1500 in 11 years on MX items for my truck back in the day.  On another one, it was about three oil changes in 4.5 years.  Less than $60 total.

This is a strength actually. EVs contribute to energy independence.  While I might be encouraging exploitation of workers in the Congo, I am not financing countries that sponsor terrorism.  I am happy that my EV is powered with American coal.

Pretty straightforward and logical.  I often here number 9 from the EV promoters, but they seem to forget that most of the early adopters of EVs are upper middle class, or upper class individuals or families that live in single family homes.  Apartment dwellers will have some fun charging their EVs, they will either pay a premium for any charging stations landowners/landlords install, or have to rely on expensive public charging.  The other one about public stations being inoperative in San Fran, this has been an issue in many more places where for whatever reason, charging stations are vandalized, or they simply do not work.  I will say it again, EVs have a place, but they are not a complete replacement for all the functions that one may get from an ICE vehicle.
