Congrats!! Glad that it was so easy. Since there has been so much discussion recently on the boards here about the Tb skin test - Did your wife have her skin Tb test done? Did they ask about it? Any info on the subject would be helpful - thanks

As far as I know she didnt have a TB skin test done during her medical. They just took some blood and she got a few vaccinations..... And they charged us $400. ;)

As far as the interview goes, he didnt ask us anything about the medical exam at all. He didnt say one word about it.... (I had a copy of the whole thing with me just in case though... They gave me 2 copies of it when they did her exam. One was sealed and was for us to send in, and the other was for us to keep. I took the 2nd one with me when I went for the interview, but he never mentioned it...)

Does anyone know if they usually update the case status on the website after the approval at the interview? Will it change to saying that card production has been ordered, etc, or does the card just show up at my house while it still says they are processing the case? ;)

Yes, you should receive email updates about the card production. When they order the GC, you generally get an email notice.

Yes, you should receive email updates about the card production. When they order the GC, you generally get an email notice.

Hmm I hope they update it soon then. No updates in the I-485 since June 10. I hope they hurry up and send the card.

Although according to the paper they gave me at the interview, my wife is already a permanent resident as soon as the interview is over and she is approved. It says that she is "now considered to be a permanent resident of the United States," but it says that she still cant leave the country until she has her actual card.

I really hope I have it by August 9, because thats the day she goes to take her driving test, and I'd really like to be able to get her real driver's license and not just the Certificate for Driving....

Just looking ahead, does anyone know what I'm supposed to do if I dont get it within the 2 weeks quoted to me at the interview? Should I call the misinformation line? ;)

I forgot to mention this when I wrote up my experience, but I think it was probably helpful:

We took my parents and my sister (who is our cosponsor) with us to the interview. We all sat in one row in the waiting room. When the guy called our name, we stood up and hugged my parents and sister, and they told us "Good luck" etc.... I think it helped that the interviewer saw this. It probably made us look like more of a "real couple" having several family members there rooting for us. :)

Your signature says that you have the EAD, it should be enough I think to obtain a driving license and not just a certificate.
