Hello everyone, became a US citizen back in 2019 however didn't apply for a passport at the time. Will be traveling to my home country in about a month from now. Applied for an US passport mid July and received it within 2 weeks. However haven't gotten my naturalization certificate back yet. I've heard that they usually send them in two different mails. How long did it take you to receive yours after getting your passport? Do I need to carry the original document every time I travel outside the States? Thank you

You have a US passport. You don't need to carry your naturalization certificate for travel anywhere. It shall stay in your shelf or closet.

I saw a case where the NC was returned 9 weeks after the passport was returned.

It is too soon to panic.

Hopefully you made a copy. If so, replacing it will be distinctly easier

You should never carry your naturalization certificate anywhere.  It belongs in a safe in your house or bank and should only be looked at for emergencies or periodically to make sure it is still there.

My certificate has never left the USA. And it never will.

Did you receive your naturalization certificate back? I am going to apply for passport and worried what if I don't receive NC back.
