When to create a myE-Verify account?

Hello AOS filers,

As a K1-to-AOS filer that is waiting for the EAD and the foreign spouse having the SSN already, do we create a myE-Verify account before receiving the EAD or after the EAD?

Is creating a myE-verify account necessary?

Is there any time-sensitive process requiring having a myE-verify account?

Not necessary.  E-verify is mostly for prospective employers to check if an applicant has the appropriate authorization to be hired for US jobs.

 

EDIT:  I mixed up E-verify with SAVE Case Check, which other government agencies (like SSA, Healthcare.gov) use to verify an applicant's immigrant status -- https://save.uscis.gov/casecheck/
