Tax returns for interview

Hello everyone! I just got my approval from uscis but I was thinking ahead and had a question. Estimating on the country my husband is coming from and the way they are scheduling interviews at his embassy he should be here within the next 7 months. Which puts him at having an interview in February or March. My question is if my husband has his interview before taxes for the year 2022 can be filed or before the tax return is processed for 2022 does that mean he will need to provide the tax return from our joint sponsor of year 2021?

Yes. Until April 15  2023, the most recent tax year will be 2021

So he will just need to provide the tax return from 2021. Will he need the joint sponsors w2s as well or no?

He will need all the originals of the documentation uploaded to CEAC for the joint sponsor. Best to read the I864 instructions pdf from USCIS, and determine what applies for your specific situation

Yes, but for an employed sponsor a complete tax return including W2 and any major 1099 forms... OR... a tax return transcript, PLUS the other documentation for a joint sponsor such as evidence of actual US Residence....AND...evidence of citizenship or LPR status.

What would be considered evidence of actual US residence for joint sponsor? For the joint sponsor I am uploading their tax transcript, w2 or 1099. And their birth certificate. What else would I need

None of that is evidence they actually live in the USA.  How about a utility bill?

Is the joint sponsor married?  Did you provide I-864a from the spouse?

Yes the joint sponsor is married. I am waiting on my NVC welcome letter so I haven’t uploaded anything yet just trying to get stuff together

Then you'll need the I-864a and same supporting documents for the spouse as the joint sponsor.

The spouse of the joint sponsor does not work so what documents would I still need for her?

I just told you.  Time to study those instructions you've been avoiding.

Okay. I just fired my attorney because she was very rude and unprofessional. Gave me bad legal advice as well so I am just trying to make sure that I don’t mess up anything at the NVC because I want to get DQ the first time around

You make sure by studying the instructions.  How do you think WE know the answers.  Studying the instructions will allow you to apply your circumstances to them.

However, the instructions are not clear about the need for an I-864a from the joint sponsor's spouse.  I....AM...being clear about it.

Hello everyone. My husband will probably get his interview for February or March. My question is if you have your interview before the tax filing deadline in April do you bring the taxes from 2021 to your interview? From my understanding that is what is correct. Just wanted to double check
