What's the difference between the two? is one better or worse than the other?

I suggest you do more research.  A legal resident with a conditional Green Card (2 year GC) must file an I-751 to remove conditions at the end of 2 years.  It is expensive, and it is a hassle.  A 10 year GC is much, much more desirable.

We filed my wife's I-751 over 3 years ago.  We are still waiting for USCIS to take action.

You quoted my answer in your question. LOL

Lol that's a mistake.. I do have another question tho. In the online I130 form there's a question "Where in the United States does the beneficiary intend to live?"
But since my husband and I have left the States for few years cuz his education and we don't own a property in the US, is it okay if we put my relative's address?

You said “ my husband and I have left the States for a few years”..so please clarify

how much time did you spend in the US and on what visa?

Be aware he will need to prove intent to re establish domicile in the US .

What country are you in ?

Wow, 3 years @Crazy Cat! That's crazy (cat ;)).

Depending on how long the processing will take, my wife and I might extend the waiting a bit to obtain an IR-1 at POE (if we get complete approval by Dec 2023 for example, if earlier, we'll probably just go for the CR-1).

By the time they'll look at it, she might go for citizenship I assume. Why are they so lazy with that? For us (beneficiaries), it's inconvenient (and sometimes maybe nerve-racking) to travel with an expired GC + the letter from the I-751 (which also has a max of 1 year if I'm not mistaken).
