I have been told two different things. I have been told that myself (the petitioner) does not need to provide proof of domicile as long as my address is correct on the AOS paperwork. Is this correct, please help me

Proof of domicile is needed if the petitioner lives abroad. You live in the US so it’s not applicable to you.

Okay thank you. Should I have my joint sponsor send in proof of domicile even though he lives in the US?

The I-864 instructions and the DOS website say to submit proof of domicile (or intent to re-establish domicile) if the sponsor's mailing address and/or place of residence is not in the US.  So technically not required if the sponsor's address is in the US.  But it won't hurt to submit one proof of domicile anyway, just to clear any doubts and avoid any RFE about domicile at NVC.
