Tourist visa denial - options for US citizen relative

Maybe try a B2 interview in a different country? I know it’s irregular but it’s possible. My in laws just got their B2 visas in Budapest, and they are from Russia. Everyone else was denied that day but they were approved. Even their translator was very surprised. I think what helped our case was all the background checks they ran on my wife for the K1 and AOS process. They did extensive background checks because of her education and career in Russia (biotechnology and working for Putin’s oil company). We had a longer wait it seemed for our K1 applications and I think it was due to her extensive background checks, which ultimately helped us to get the B2s for her parents.

also, they prepared tons of documents. Stuff like bank accounts, real estate/property holdings and more. Everything certified translated. They even begged me to write a letter of support which I didn’t want to do (and I asked about it on here and was ridiculed by the very rude people on VJ).

Ultimately the officer looked at zero paperwork. It was such a pain in the rear to travel with all those documents, because we all met up in Greece in June and they went to Budapest for 13 days in July. We still can’t believe they got approved because alot of Russians are denied.

If I were you, I’d consider another B2 interview in another country nearby. Maybe even your home country.

I find this to the exact opposite

How many tourist visa has your or your wife family applied for?

Irrelevant  to this discussion.  Obviously, an immediate relative of a US citizen is more likely to illegally stay and adjust status.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

This is just outrageous, he has no intentions of staying here 😔

I know, it sucks, but this is what happens when there’s so much illegal immigration and fraud coming into the US…they ruin it for everyone else who is trying to do things the right way.

Is he from a country considered high fraud? Did he ever overstay in the US before? Denied any visa? Criminal record? Etc.? If he’s showing such strong ties to his country, even with a US citizen child, I’d just guess there has to be one of those other factors involved (or something else) with an immediate denial like that.

That is a totally different situation.   The OP's parent is in Germany.  I think applying in another country would raise even more questions.  I think we are missing some information in the OP's case.

Unless specified directly by the embassy, it is legal to have interview abroad for B2 visa. Especially in Europe/EU. You can even find a country with shorter wait times, and use that as your reasoning. In fact, they don’t even question it. You have the right to interview anywhere you prefer. Interviewing in Germany with the same people who denied you is not good advice. I’m just offering options.

Skatz...... There is a long shot.... it will do two things.  Your father has a business and employees.  So, If your Father wants to “do business” with another company HERE in the US, ...... maybe a company about 20 minutes from where you live......he can try the old “im expanding my business” hail mary pass.   He would need to talk to people that would know about HOW to do business WITH a business that is US based.  Maybe your Dad would consider a “PARTNERSHIP” business.  Then, he would be able to try to get a Visa so he could come and “CHECK OUT HIS NEW PARTNERS BUSINESS”,  or Just to come periodically for “BUSINESS MEETINGS”.  And while he is here for his BUSINESS MEETINGS, you all could go to dinner together, or he could spend the nights at your house instead of a hotel.

im just thinking outside the box.  I do. Ot know even if this is possible, but my Cousin owns a VERY LARGE FIREWORKS BUSINESS in the Mid West.  Every year for 1 week, his BUSINESS PARTNERS from CHINA, cone and stay at his house while they plan on how many fireworks shipments they will have.   Seems to me, if business people can fly from CHINA, and stay at my Cousins private home for 1 week each year.... your father could maybe do the same thing, AND..... it might help his business GROW!!!   Good luck!!
