Just checked the Gatorade website and a regular bottle of Gatorade contains 56 grams of sugar.. You aren't addicted to Gatorade.. you are addicted to sugar..

I hear that Propel is good to drink, might help you cut back, but i couldn't find the sugar content on their website.

Water is always better for you.. Sugar is bad.. it probably is contributing to weight gain my friend!

Be prepared my friend for terrible headaches and a lot of fuss from your system as it flushes out.. Sugar is a ####### to get rid of..

I recommend having fruit on hand for the cravings you are going to have but it's worth it when you get it out

Preaching to myself btw.. :P

From my experience it takes about a week or so to get rid of strong sugar cravings. If you can cut out all sugar from your diet (except for fruit) for a week you're good. I've done it and it works. After surviving the first week you can walk right past the candy aisle without stopping. Good luck!

There's some teas out there that have a natural sweet taste to them without any sugar - I'd recommend a tea that has no caffeine.

I use Super Stevia, a natural sweetner that is non-glycemic (will not effect your blood sugar levels).

i got hooked on Gatorade after my gall bladder surgery, it was easy on my digestive system. But I have weaned myself off of it once I took a good look at the sugar levels.

I personally recommend Edy's Fruit bars -- they give a me a dose of sweet without a ton of calories or sugar. :)

I'd suggest getting used to water, other drinks have sodium and sugar that are not very healthy in large quantities, I've always been a person to avoid drinking my calories. I watch my daily calorie intake so I always make sure I am not drinking calories, leaving them for foods only. That means I only drink water or diet drinks that contains zero calories, and avoid drinking too many of those 'cus of all the sodium they have.

My exception for drinking calories are fresh fruit juices, but then I count them as a serving of fruit, and I drink those sparringly and rather eat the fruit fresh to get more fiber.
