F1/F2B Wait times Embassy - Lima Peru

Hi everyone, I'm DQ OCT 2021 

 

Hi All,

 

Does anyone know how long the backlog is at the embassy in Lima? Does the type of visa (F1 or F2B ) impact when an interview will be scheduled? My PD is Nov 3 2015 and I'm DQ Oct 2021 

 

My initial visa type was F2B as I was son over 21 years old of Green card holder but my Dad became a citizen so I was transferred to F1

 

Please help

When your dad naturalized, you were automatically transferred to the F1 category which is currently at Dec 2014. Urgently write to NVC, https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html attach dad's naturalization certificate and request them to retain your F2B category, currently at September 2015, which is closer to your priority date. This will save you over a year in waiting.
