To be honest, I do think it is strange that they don’t have 1 single picture of the wedding? No matter how small the wedding. The reason of her parents not liking the man does not make any sense at all…

Did they think that all they needed was for the marriage to be legal? Legal does not equal bonafide

she wants to use immigration lawyer coz she doesn't want to answer them more

But hiring a lawyer will not make the marriage bonafide? If somebody needs a lawyer for this (simple) request, what is happening here?

So there is more to this story than a couple who got married because they love each other?

It doesn’t look like a natural reaction to just abandon the case based on (again, a very simple) request if you want to move to the US to be with the person that you love?

she can't provide pictures. she says to the CO that the marriage contract is legit and they can check it and they made confirmation and confirmed it is legal but the CO keeps asking her about their wedding

If she abandons the case, COs won't be interested in investigating her. If, in the future, she applies for any visa, this case will come up for discussion.

What evidence did your friend and her spouse submit to prove that the marriage is bona fide with the I-130 petition?  What evidence and documents were uploaded to prove that the marriage is bona fide at the NVC stage?  What evidence did she take to the visa interview?  How many days, weeks, or months have they been physically, in-person, together?  If this couple has more evidence that the marriage is bona fide that has not already been sent, they need to send it now if they hope to get the visa approved.  If they do nothing, it sounds like the visa will be denied.  I also recommend that your friend and her spouse join Visa Journey and ask their own questions.  Getting the story second-hand does not usually result in the best advice.  There seems to be more to the story than you know about.

The fact that the marriage is legal doesn’t mean that it is automatically a bonafide marriage. Did they submit any other pictures of them together?

Not how that works……

The burden is on her to prove it is a bonafide marriage, whether she used a lawyer or not.

Not surprising.  This whole story makes no sense.

If the consulate believes it is a marriage for the purpose of immigration, I can see why.

Well she is the one trying to get to the states and not the CO, she is not doing the CO a favor by answering the questions asked. If she loves the man, she should stay in the Philippines with him.
