Change of address when filing i-751

Hi! I'm currently filling out my I-751 application since my 2 year conditional GC is running out mid September, we've recently moved too. Can I just put the new address on the application and assume that they'll update our address through that or should I update my address separately before sending off the application?

You are required to report change of your address with uscis within 10 days of your move, not that everyone does within that timeframe but still. It's a 5 min thing to change your address online with uscis.

Your sponsor (likely your spouse) needs to mail i865 as well to report the change of address.

Spouse:

2015-06-16: I-130 Sent

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

2016-05-10: N-400 Sent

2016-05-16: N-400 NOA1

2016-05-26: Biometrics

Oh gosh i had no idea about the 10 day rule i hope that isnt going to be an issue, I'm trying to update it online but nothing I put in for my DOS case number is being recognised, so I'm assuming the online route is a no go. thank you!

Edit: just found the online page and submitted the address change :D Thank you!

Make sure your spouse mail the i865 form. A lot of the people don’t know this step, we didn’t know either until much later… 

I-485/765/131:

06/01/2018 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP through UPS, received NOA1 on 6/11. Received bio appointment on 6/15 and completed on scheduled date 6/29.

07/06/2018 - Submitted EAD expedite request with job offer, reason was financial loss. Received EAD/AP combo card on 08/04. AOS changed to 'Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview' on 7/24.

07/23/2019 - AOS interview was scheduled on 8/27. In the interview USCIS can't make decision because original K1 file got split up somewhere.

11/25/2019 - AOS got approved, received the actual card in mail on 12/2.

I-751:

09/05/2021 - Sent ROC through FedEx, delivered on 9/7, received message e-notification on 9/9 stated case was received, check is cashed on 9/10, NOA1 in mailbox on 9/13.

10/28/2021 - Fingerprints have been taken (Reuse).

01/17/2023 -  Case was transferred To Another Office

01/26/2023 - Case Was Approved

N-400:

08/28/2022 - Submitted N-400 online, NOA1 on 08/29/2022, with estimate time 10 months for decision. Biometrics is reused.

11/23/2022 - Interview was scheduled on 1/11/2023, it was a combo interview for I751/N400. Both cases were verbally approved. System hasn't been updated yet. 

01/26/2023 - Form N-400 recommended to be approved --> Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

02/06/2023 -  Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed, Oath on 2/22

02/22/2023 - Oath Ceremony, applied passport the same day, with estimated receiving date in middle of May. ALL DONE!!

Yeah as long as you mail it out it’s fine, it doesn’t need to be with the i751 package. You can read the i865 form in USCIS website, it’s very straightforward - essentially it’s the change of the address for your sponsor (in this case likely is your spouse). The online form you filled in was about your own address
