Hello everyone,

When my mother filed for me she was a permanent resident and now that My documents has been qualified for some time now, she na me due for her citizenship. I haven’t seen her for a long time and when emailing the embassy about the delays of cases I noticed that only the immediate relative of Us Citizens are being called faster and spouses for interview, I honestly don’t get why . Things are getting hard for me financially even depression as I’m the only one here

Now the question is I was under age at the time she filed but right now I’m being protected by the CPSA law. As I’m no longer a minor

would it make any difference if she files for her citizenship so my position would switch as an immediate relative or I shouldn’t bother. I asked a lawyer and she told me they might take my case back in line to F2B. Please what do I do?

I recommend your mom not to get citizenship till you immigrate. When she becomes a citizen, that will be the day you are technically unmarried son of a USC. That makes your category F1 which will have a more wait time than F2A.

Yeah like if you marry, your entire petition will be cancelled.

In a few areas of US one may be able to take the uscis to a court and successfully chs ge the case to IR2 but with the time and money spent on lawyer n court and the risk, it's better to just wait for the F2A interview.
