It's not CanadaPost's fault here. RCMP says the processing is complete and it has been mailed out, but truth is it hasn't been really mailed out. I imagine they mail out in batches. So your police certificate has to collect a bit of dust before the batch it is in gets complete and then sent out. That might take a week. Then CanadaPost takes it and quite often delivers it in less than 4-5 business days (average is 3-4 if you live in a big city).

Agree, it is the RCMP that takes considerable time for what should be a trivial-and-quick thing.

Took me a month. Everyone should get it done 6-9 months after submitting I 130 IMO. It'll ensure it's still valid and you wont get delayed with the NVC.

Yes. Privacy Act became 'Criminal Record Check for Personal Use' , and the type that includes the entire RCMP national repository is 'Others'

it won't explicitly say 'RCMP National Repository entire holdings' anywhere on the Canadian PCC, right? Just the fact that it says 'Others' as 'Type of Criminal Record Check for Personal Use' should be sufficient. is that correct? sorry for all the questions. just worried that I might have not mentioned it while getting my fingerprinting done, so I wanted to check if the one I got is right.

1- you need to get a currently valid PCC before sending your package for DQ and before interview as well. if your interview date is less than 1 year after your PCC was issued , then just bring that same PCC to the interview. Otherwise, Assuming that you were still a resident of Canada after the issue date of the previous PCC, then you'll need a new PCC.

2- No it won't say 'RCMP National ...' just like it won't say 'Privacy Act'. What it will say instead  is 'National Repository of Criminal Records'  (that's the new name, same as 'Criminal Record Check for Personal Use' being the new name for 'Privacy Act'). The type Others determines that they look at that national repository.

Here is what I got. If yours looks the same then all is good. The dude who got my fingerprints knew how to deal with US immigration cases. Another attachment below is a message from a conversation with RCMP stating the new terminology. Notice how Others(Provide Details) is the most expansive. Where is that detail asked in "Provide Details" actually provided? When you are submitting your request to RCMP, the person who is doing the fingerprinting for you will literally type into a box "RCMP National Repository entire holdings" that goes in front of "Provide Details".  I was showed all of that by the person who took my fingerprints.

My husband had his fingerprints done on Oct 19th.  We received the certificate today (October 25th).  Super speedy this time around!
