I have never even heard of this but it looks awesome  I am definitely going to look into getting my family together and doing this. We even have a dozen or so in our hometown...that is so cool. I can't believe I never heard of it before.

Thanks so much for sharing!

You're most welcome.

My 6 year old step-daughter is in a Pirates phase (Cheers, Johnny) and loves treasure hunts and the like. Hopefully she'll get a big kick out of this.

I remember going to Okehampton in Devon when I was there on holiday one time as a kid, and seeing something about this in a museum there, and thinking it sounded fun. I think I asked my mum if we could go and look for the letterboxes on the moor (she said no). You've just reminded me of it a mere, um, 20 or so years later... I thought it was just a Dartmoor thing, didn't realise it happened anywhere else!

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Yeah, I think so. I'm not especially techy, so it's perfect. I like the artistic aspect - making yer own stamps and what-not.

There seems to be two main sites for it:

Atlas Quest

Letterboxing North America

And, yeah, I'm gonna have to try to remember my old compass training from boy scout days. Never Eat Shredded Wheat...

Wow...I have been reading more and more about it and it is pretty awesome. I don't know how I missed this all these past years.

They even have letterboxes in Jamaica. Who would have thought?!? Next trip down there we are definitely searching.

Gonna have to get up to date on my compass skills...I remember learning "Never Eat Soggy Waffles"

Never Eat Shredded Wheat...

That's how I remember it too!!

Thanks for the info on Letterboxing, we're going to look into it.

Another site I always find fascinating is http://www.wheresgeorge.com/ . You put the serial numbers of your $ bills in and it traces their journey throughout the country. You can add comments etc. It's really cool.

On a different track, we've also started this:

The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

Actually, re-started. It's difficult to find the time, blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, :ot2:
