Hi all, we activated our green cards at the Alexandria Bay/Thousand Island crossing on Friday - all went well with no issues. We drove back to Canada and will be moving permanently in a few months. I understand our Green Cards will be mailed to the US address we provided - what about SSNs? We checked that we wanted social security numbers on our DS260s, but wondering how/when anyone has received SSNs after activating?

They’ll be sent to the address on your DS-260’s if you ticked that box. Usually received about 10 days after entry.

We picked up our passports today from the courier office. It took 5 working days for it to be ready. @monk_yatso and @Aaron_ have you recieved email regarding the passport pickup? Planning to cross the boarder this week or next depending on the weather situation.

@Magnetron_ received our passports via purolator. Thanks for all the well wishes 😊

One last data point from me!

After activating the GC at the border, the SSN was received via mail in less than two weeks, followed by the permanent Green Card in the mail yesterday, a little under one month after crossing at POE.

Which address did you receive your SSN? Same address of GC?

Hi. May I ask when you crossed the border? Its been over 100 days for me, I am still awaiting my Green card to be mailed. Any insights will be helpful. Thank you!

Have you checked your MyUSCIS account to see if the card has been issued?  You can send an inquiry if it's been more than 90 days.  That said, ours took over 170.

I have submitted an e-request once I completed 90 days, still awaiting an update from USCIS.
