We have our interview soon but there are some changes to our plans. My wife is a student and she finishes her studies next year as she is in maternity leave right now. So, the plan is to get the immigrant visa, go to US, stay there one-two months, get the green card and come back to Canada so she can finish her studies.

Will this change of plan cause any problem in the interview?

It's the same for my husband, he needs to finish something with his degree and will stay behind for around 1 to 1.5 year. So we are planning to go to the US for a couple of months upon issuance of the greencard and get him an i-131 Re-entry Permit just in case before he goes back to Canada to finish things up (but we won’t say that at the interview).

The expectation is you're moving to the US to be a permanent resident, not a part time resident. The re-entry permit is a good way to manage things.  That said, keep in mind how decisions will be taxed in both countries since you'll be required to file in both the US and Canada.  I highly recommend hiring a GOOD cross-border tax accountant to manage this and your Canadian exit taxes.

yes. It says Payment Received.

As @appleblossom said, after 90 days, send an inquiry.  We waited about 6 months before ours were sent.  Your endorsed I-551 in your passport serves as a temporary greencard for up to a year, so at least you have that!
