Would Trump election effect the processing of our cases or cause issues for the ones that have immigration visa but not settled down there yet? Any thoughts?

Trump has always been a staunch supporter of legal immigration. So i see no issues arising there

Has anyone else checked their CEAC account this morning.  My visa category seems to have changed after the maintenance activity that was done this weekend. Should I be worried? My interview is tomorrow and the visa category on the top right section of CEAC account shows a different category now. It was fine before the maintenance activity.

Congrats on your approval. Which category are you and what did they ask you in the interview?

EB3 Skilled..they just asked where I will be working and where I will be living. I came equipped with copies of every single supporting document and didn’t need any of it in the end. Suppose it was good to have just in case tho. Make sure to bring photocopies of all your civil docs.

He put various restrictions on employment based visas in place last time (I was affected - I was originally supposed to be moving in 2021) and has already said he'll cancel legal immigration programs.

He may not go after EB applicants this time, no way of knowing though.

Sorry to hear that. I had few friends receiving NiW EB2 during their grad school and they saw no trouble. But ya that’s what it is. It’s their country’s policy. We need to embrace any changes 😥

On of the main reason why Montreal got into this crazy long waiting time is because Trump put a moratorium on Green Card at the start of the pandemic which created this crazy backlog.  https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/21/us/politics/coronavirus-trump-immigration-ban.html

Please is there anyone here who is waiting for Invitation Letter after the approval of I-140?

I have a friend whose PD is Jan 2024 and I-140 approval for EB2 NIW category was Mar 2024 and still waiting to receive Welcome Letter.. He is a Nigerian and Canadian citizen.. he had received his case number and account number from NVC already.

His Priority Date isn't current, so there's no visa available to him yet. When his PD becomes current on Table B of the Visa Bulletin he'll be able to proceed with the NVC side of things, but not before then - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-november-2024.html

Hey @Mazda, according to spreadsheet you got your IL on Oct-14th-2024 (July DQ). Did they miss you on Sept-30-2024 IL round? Lots of August DQs got IL before you?
