I entered the Receipt Number which I got last time while paying fees for green card and Form Number is I-90.

You need to select OSI55A on the drop down menu as that’s what your receipt number is related to - not a I-90 as you haven’t filed one of those.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any other documents (such as, work permit, travel card) provided with the package from USCIS that contains the Green Card?

Thanks,

Why would you need either of those? The green card allows you to work and travel, that’s all you get (plus a fun leaflet about your obligations now you’re a US Permanent Resident!).

Anyone faced interview today?

We had our interview today and wanted to share our experience. There was a delay due to a system issue, so we had to wait outside the consulate for about two hours. However, if you have children, you can inform the security officer, and they will allow one parent and the kids to wait inside.

The process itself was straightforward, just as others have described. First, we were asked for the documents listed in the interview checklist. The second step was fingerprinting. The third and final step was the interview, where we were asked standard questions, such as:

  • 'What is the highest degree you have completed?'
  • 'Have you been to the U.S. before?'
  • 'Have you ever had a visa rejected or been denied entry to the U.S.?'

The officer also confirmed some details from the DS-260 form. At the end of the interview, we were told to expect our visas within one to two weeks.

Good luck to everyone going through the process! Feel free to ask if you have any questions. A big thank you to everyone in this forum—we’ve learned a lot from your shared experiences!

Thanks,

Your temporary I-551 in your passport serves as your greencard for up to a year until your physical greencard arrives.  Make sure you pay the fee to have the card issued.

A greencard, temporary or permanent, awards you permanent residency in the US.  There is no separate work authorization or travel permit needed because you are already a PR - people are issued those documents when they are adjusting status and haven't yet been awarded a greencard.

Thanks,

Hi. I am awaiting for my Green Card to be processed. Its been over 90 days since I crossed the border. Just checking to see how many days after you entered the US was your Green Card issued? Any inputs will be helpful. Thank you!
