It seems there have been no ILs in December. Are there no interviews for February? My DQ is on Jan 24, so I'm waiting…

In the last few months the interview letters have come 3rd or 4th week. So let's see what happens next week.

If they wanna book February slots, then they’ll have to give atleast 30-40 days prep time, hence, they need to issue IL by Dec-23-2024. Last week is Christmas week, they’ll be on leave.
my DQ: Dec-20-2023

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I have a job offer and have to be in the US on August 1, 2025. Does anyone know whether I can expedite the interview appointment. I was DQ in February 2024. Case: EB-2 NIW. Country: Iran.

You can try to expedite. Based on recent speed, you should receive IL by early next year

Expediting seems very hard and only for medical emergencies. We are at DQ mid-December 2023 now. You should probably get an interview around February-March 2025.

  • As of December 16, 2024, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in August 2024; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in October 2024; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in December 2023.

Hi @sns75, it seems you had an interview on December 10. If you don’t mind, could you please share your interview experience? Thank you.

Hi Aaron,

The interview went well(took about 3 hours for the whole process) and the visa has been approved. It was similar to what others have already mentioned in the forum. You can  go 5~10 mins before the appointment time to avoid current cold weather. They will let you in per the appointment time, even though later interviewees before you in the line.

Interviewer just asked and verified generic questions like;

1. Where I will be relocating?

2. What position I will be working?

3. How did I know about the position and employer?

4. Most of the time he was verifying the documents and entering data in the system...

If there is any specific questions, I would be happy to answer.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and congratulations!

I’m curious about one thing: the preparation of documents before the interview.

Based on the interview experiences shared by others in this forum, I’ve read that during the initial step of the interview, applicants are typically asked to present the documents listed in the pre-interview checklist.

Do they also request any certificates or documents that were submitted during the I-140 process?

While I plan to have all my documents ready, I’m wondering—should we include everything we have in the pre-interview folder, just in case?
