It depends on if somebody is put in to AP or not. No AP = quick issuance of the visa.

They put me in administrative processing, and after a month, they requested my passport. What does that mean? Does it indicate that the issue is resolved, or is requesting the passport still part of the AP process? I don't think requesting the passport and keeping it for more than a month—around two months—is a good idea. Many people have travel plans at the end of the year.

Sorry to hear that. But yes if you have AP after the interview, that's another timeline. I see you are in the group DS-5535. If you got a DS-5535, that group would know best then us at this point. If they just asked for your passeport I would think it's a great thing!

Hello, for those who recently completed their interviews, how long is the police certificate valid for? A year or two? Also has anyone tried to renew their police certificate with the during this Canada post strike?

You can always request your passport back if you need it to travel.

Hello, what should be understood regarding the statement, "Any documents that are not in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation"?

If I completed my graduate studies in the U.S., can I be considered a certified English translator for my own documents?

Yeah, I don't understand how they process. We waited for 2 months before coming back. If they agree to print it, they can do it same day. Did you leave your passport with them? Good luck, I know it is tough.

I'm in Quebec, so my documents are often in French. My certified English translations that were accepted so far had been made by a certified translator that is part of the order of translator of Quebec. With their number of the order and an official stamp as well as a page with the blurb that says it's a certified translation to the best of their knowledge, blablabla.  You have to have the official stamp and that blurb.
For reference it was just 50$ per simple document so far.
