After a very long process, I am happy to share that my interview yesterday went smoothly and my GC was approved.

The staff are friendly and professional. I strongly advise that your documentation to be well organized. There was a family struggling while presenting their documents because they were completely disorganized. Invest in a document management case with dividers from a dollar store. Also, ensure you have copies of all your documents.

I was the first appointment @ 7:30am and I was approved by 8:10am. This is fitting...having one of the longest wait times for an interview...experiencing one of the shortest interview processes.

A bid congrats! Indeed patience got paid off! Any idea why they missed your IL before?

I just got my IL.

EB-3

DQ Date: Oct 26, 2023

Interview Date: January 17, 2025

I have some questions about the medical exams.

The following are the requirements provided by one of the consulate-approved doctors near my home for visa applicants:

1 - Valid Passport

2 - Interview Appointment Letter from Consulate

3 - DS-260 Form (Visa and Alien Registration Application ) if available

4 - 4 passport size photos (may be required)

5 - Immunization Records (see US vaccine requirements)

6 - List of Medications, Surgeries, and Medical Conditions (your family doctor can provide this)

7 - Prescription Eyeglasses (if required)

My Questions: Regarding No. 6 (List of Medications, Surgeries, and Medical Conditions):

---I don’t have a family doctor. How should I obtain this list?

---Is it an official document that must be provided by a family doctor?

This reads like Dr. Lyndon from visadoctor. Follow their registration process and then email them with your questions. They respond in near real time. Much of what is described on their website is not required...example: they only need one digital photo sent via email...no 4 passport photos.

yeah. I just missed the April 2024 IL batch since my DQ date was late Dec 2022. Shortly after, the EB3 visa limit was reached and I had to wait until the new visa fiscal year. Also, I was still competing for interviews with the remnants of the COVID backup in MTL. Seems like the COVID backup has been resolved and the IL wait time is at a reasonable 10-12 month wait.

Some bad luck along the way but it all worked out in the end. Couldn't ask for a better interview process.

Thank you so much for your help, I just saw it.

This morning, I visited a local clinic and showed the doctor the medical exam requirements. After reviewing my Immunization Records, the doctor informed me that I needed three vaccines based on my records, so I received the Tetanus vaccine and the Influenza (Flu Shot) at the clinic today, then I also booked the COVID-19 vaccine appointment for 11/25/2024.
Regarding the other three vaccines (MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B) in the list, the doctor recommended a blood test to check for immunity before determining whether I need them. So this afternoon, I completed the blood test at LifeLabs, and the results are expected in four business days.

I guess I am going to book the Medical Exam after I take the first dose of the 3 vaccines(MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), if necessary.

In this link https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html, Step 3 mentions uploading the documents to the online application, which redirects you to the Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260). However, there is no option for me to upload any documents there. I have already sent copies of all my documents to the NVC via courier before being DQ'd. What are we supposed to do here? Any ideas?

Usually you don’t need to upload anything there. Btw, did you get IL?

Oh, okay. Yes, I've received my IL. I tried to update the Excel sheet but couldn't. If someone can add it, my interview date is January 31, 2025. Thank you

Update

Our stamped passports arrived in the mail at home yesterday.

Less than a week from our interview.

Next step will be border crossing.

@Bamz@datafate my passport is with consulate and status not changed to 'Issued' yet, I do see the option to request premium delivery on AIS. Any idea if I can request for it at this point?

You should be.Give it a shot.Nothing to loose.

I am not sure how the consulate could even initiate a Canada Post pick up while they are still on strike.

It should work out for you.
