On June 26th, I sent an email to the CSC asking about the status of our 485. Coincidentally, we were approved the following day, so I didn't expect a response. Yesterday, 7/17, I received the following email:

From: CSC XII 485 [mailto:CSC-XII.485@dhs.gov]

Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2007 7:07 PM

To: xx, Jennifer

Subject: RE: Status Inquiry: Receipt number MSCxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Jennifer xx,

Approved – A final decision has been made on applicant’s I-485. Notification of Approval (card) was mailed on 06/28/2007. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Congratulations on the approval. And they do take their time in replying, but at least you got one :)

Officer Chen seems to be the main responder of emails (they replied to ours and other VJers) so kudos to them on wanting to keep us informed.

Ever get that feeling they would only reply to an email if they had good news? ;)

I am still waiting for a response to an e-mail that I sent on 7/5 & I sent the same e-mail again on 7/9 :blink:

Congrats Jen... wish Mr. Chen had such good news for us. I'm still under the impression that most ppl in USCIS don't know their azzes from a hole in the ground! Particularly the officers at our ASC!:huh:

They also send out the " This case is pending the FBI Name Check" email as well.

So they do send bad news as well
