Does my husband need all schedules included in the tax papers or just the main papers?

Heartland,

One should always be prepared to show all original evidence at an interview - including supporting documents such as W-2's, 1099's etc.

Just 1040, and any W2 and/or 1099s to prove the numbers on the 1040.

What visa are you interviewing for? Your profile lacks this info, just says filed for N/A.

K-3s need I-134 affidavit of support

IR-1/CR-1 need I-864 affidavit of support.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.
  • Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS
  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years
  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.
  • Photo copies of past 6 months pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Then you are K-3 and your profile should indicate that, it helps with answering questions.

You dont need to include state returns only federal ones.

Tax transcripts are better and simpler to use, no supporting docs like schedules, w2, 1099 etc needed.

http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html (Call IRS and talk to an operator, just request the simple transcripts for past 3 years)

Do the transcripts have to be mailed. My husband has his interview on Monday , Sunday night our time?
A bit short notice fo them, you wont have them in time, stick with the 1040 + Schedules, and other evidence supporting income.

If you have access to a fax machine, the nice folks at the IRS will fax them to you immediately.
