In applying for the I-485, you'll need to fill out the I-864. You'll need a tax transcript of your latest tax return. Have you obtained that yet?

We still have the tax info that we used in Packet 4 for the final interview at the consulate, which includes copies of my returns for the last 2 years along with the W2's. That should be all I need, right?

Yep, if you have tax year 2006, then you're good to go. Now you need to research how quickly your county clerk's office will get you a certified copy of your marriage certificate.

YF, btw, why aren't you over at CFL? Or do you use another account name over there?

Will do, thanks! YuandDan referred me to CFL long ago, I used a lot of info from there but never posted anything on their forums.

Yep that is what we did I recycled the transcripts and returns used for the visa interview, and added a copy or 06 return with W2 and 1099s, added some more recent pay stubs, and recycled the employer letter.

In our case we did a civil marriage at the court house, the marriage cert showed up in our mail the following day. You may be able to get the cert same day.

Example: a Vegas wedding, you can hand carry the completed marriage license back to the county clerks office, and they will process it and give you the marriage cert on the spot.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Awesome. Maybe we'll make it in time after all. Man, I'll be so glad when this is out of the way so we can finally kick back and relax together. It's been so stressful these last couple of months.

Here is a sugestion to what we did.

We did get the marriage license and called the court for a justice of the peace. They said we could come over that same day we did obtain our marriage license.

The justice of the peace did marry us right there and we called my parents in law at their work, when we found out it was possible and the met us at the court to be our witnesses.

In the morning we didn't even know we would be able to be legally married at night. ha ha

We were able to get a certified copy soon there after, or request it and explain the situation.

Bring a camera, take some piture ( also nice evidence) and have a family wedding celebration a little later.

So than you will be on time to file before the fees change.

Good luck!!!!
