PS  I used an attorney for my LPR. I didn't know about VisaJourney back then.

When I received my greencard I said to my attorney that I would see him for N400. "No you won't" He replied, "unless between now and then you have issues with the law. You can do this one yourself".

Oh ok.

I thought speeding tickets that were dismissed with driving course don’t count

Debatable. Some say yes, some say no. Application asks if you have EVER been arrested or cited by law enforcement. Do as you think best.

I added mine from 2093 and a dismissed one from 2015, the interviewing officer stated that she was happy to see them included.

Lover and hubby to 1, Daddy to 2. I do enjoy growing older but not growing up.

A filthy, dirty oilfield engineer.

N400 through marriage to another filthy dirty oilfield engineer.

Oh ok. Maybe the verbiage needs to be adjusted? I mean if it’s dismissed then they aren’t a public record and doesn’t even effect your driving record and insurance rate. 2093? You mean 2003? How do you get those records if you don’t have them?

Seriously... did you even download the N-400 instructions and read through them? This is a DIY site; we expect people to do some of the work themselves.

Photos are only required if you are living overseas. See the first item on the list under Required Evidence starting on page 10 of the instructions.

Yes I did. Are we allowed to use a camera pod to take a picture with a smartphone and then use an online service to get the physical photo?

Doesn't sound like you read the instructions. Your PP photos aren't required.

Never travelled outside of USA since I arrived in USA and don’t plan to either as PR.

If this is true, you will not be living outside the US when you apply for citizenship. So as per the instructions, you do NOT need to include passport photos. I don't know how else to explain this to you...

I know that. I should have explained the other issue earlier. My bad.

I was talking about the U.S Passport.

You can find all the requirements for the passport photos here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/photos.html

If you can produce photographs that meet these requirements using your method, then that's fine. Or you can choose to make an appointment at an acceptance facility that has a photo service, so you don't need to worry about it.

But you are getting way ahead of yourself. You have to wait to apply for naturalization at the end of next year. And then, after you have been approved (which will take a while depending on your local office) you will be able to apply for a passport. And then you can worry about the photos.

They don't ask you how you took the photo. They simply want the photo. As long as it adheres to the photo requirements, it doesn't matter if you get it from a studio, from a $200 phone selfie, or from a $2000 DSLR camera with tripod or without tripod.
