A small update from me, I'm still waiting for the Welcome Letter, but at least now NVC confirmed that they have recently received my case sent from USCIS (but they didn't mention which day), and that my case is waiting to be entered into their system. (I submitted the public inquiry on 01/13, and received a reply today 01/17, so it's good that at least the inquiry response is fast).

And today NVC will update the timeframes, let's hope the case creation time lag gets shorter...

I also sent an inquiry and they answered they have my case. Nothing yet. Sent on 11/19

An unrelated post + replies have been split from this thread into a new thread in this forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hello,

Our K-1 visa was approved by USCIS on February 7th.  I still have not been notified from NVC that they received and are processing the case.  How long is it taking to get the notification and processing from NVC?

Our case was approved 58 days ago and still no letter from the NVC. Inquired once a week for the last 4 weeks and reply was they are waiting for the data entry into the system. Sent an email to my senators office and after 1 week the reply was it is taking longer than normal. Great reply from their office. All times are going up not down.

Finally we got a notice today that the case was forwarded to the consulate!

Seems like everyone has quite a journey, here's ours so far.  BTW i'll make a profile but I'm in california and my fiancee is in Bogota.   Applied for K1 in April 2022, accepted in USCIS in May 2022.  I-129F was approved end of May 2023.  I was excited.  Little did i know it was going to be a PITA.  So I got the 797 letter, yay, and it said 2-4 weeks to process at NVC.  two months goes by.....nothing.  I email, thru the portal.  They respond with, we will notify you when its sent to the Embassy in Bogota.  And they gave me the updated case number.  OhhhhhK.    Almost another month goes by, I look up the processing times and they are processing case files from July, and we're in August at this point, so I email again.   They respond ( will admit they respond within a couple days) stating that due to covid 19 restrictions, the US embassy/consulate in Bogota has suspended all immigrant and Non immigrant visa services.  I immediately said to myself.  What the %&(@%$!?   So I research, and I call, and her friend (who works for a company that processes visitor visas), comfirms that's simply not true.  I went on the website, uscis, boundless, called the scheduling (cuz nobody else answers) and they all confirm, they are processing visas normally at this time.  I wait thru the weekend and call again today.....yes, all is normal...WTH   So, at this point i just sent another inquiry thru the lovely portal.  Wish me luck I hope i don't piss someone off but i hate being misinformed and/or lied to.

Our NOA2 was  approved on July 3, 2023 and as of today we have not received any communication from NVC (67 days now)..

I sent an inquiry to them on the 29th of August and they sent me a response that makes no sense.. They stated i would be notified once this case is forwarded to the assigned US Embassy / Consulate General..

We have not received our welcome letter or case number...
Should i send another inquiry to NVC?

Also there is an expiration date on my NOA2 of October 29 2023...

Im getting concerned, any words of wisdom in this matter?

Hi,

Our K-1 visa was approved by USCIS on July 11, after a month of waiting I reached out to NVC and they said they have received the approval letter in Sept 1. We are still waiting for the welcome letter. I am begining to panic because there is an expired date on our approval letter for Oct 6. How long does it take before we receive a welcome letter? And do I pay for processing visa here or it does not apply to K1 Fiancee visa?

Thank you.

Yes, only approved by USCIS I-129f. My worry is that I assumed I would receive something in the actual mail from the NVC, so even though I check my email daily I did not look in my junk/spam email for anything and if my welcome letter from the NVC did end up there then it was deleted after 30 days and I cannot retrieve it. The approval from the USCIS said it could take 30 days to receive my welcome letter from the NVC, so I was just waiting patiently and checking the mail each day.  I have emailed the NVC, but since they no longer answer phone calls and take 2 MONTHS to respond to emails (Thanks Joe Biden) it is likely that my USCIS approval will expire before I can do anything.

What is the update on your application? Did you get the welcome letter within4 months and had to do interview or was it okay to get interview after 4 months of validity? thank you
