Hello, received our approval for fiancé visa from the uscis on June 21st. Letter says we would hear from the NVC within 30 days so we could get our assigned case number and login through the NVC website, it’s been about 45 days now and we have received nothing from the NVC. Should this be via email or mail? Thank you for whatever help you provide

It should have been sent to visa applicant's email if an email was provided. Did you check your spam folders?

For clarity, only the I-129f petition was approved....not the visa.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, only approved by USCIS I-129f. My worry is that I assumed I would receive something in the actual mail from the NVC, so even though I check my email daily I did not look in my junk/spam email for anything and if my welcome letter from the NVC did end up there then it was deleted after 30 days and I cannot retrieve it. The approval from the USCIS said it could take 30 days to receive my welcome letter from the NVC, so I was just waiting patiently and checking the mail each day.  I have emailed the NVC, but since they no longer answer phone calls and take 2 MONTHS to respond to emails (Thanks Joe Biden) it is likely that my USCIS approval will expire before I can do anything.

Welcome Letter depends on your embassies backlog. If there's a long backlog they hold off sending welcome letter until Embassy is ready to receive you.
So really disregard the 30 days that's an old pre-covid message that truly doesn't apply anymore.

Currently it is taking 45-60 days for USCIS to forward some approved  petitions  to NVC. Mine is currently going on 50 days with no case # yet. The say to give 30 days to inquire about your case at NVC.  If NVC holds your petition for 60 days or more they will send you an email with your case # and let you know that your embassy has a backlog.  Your notice will come Via petitioner email and they will give further instructions for the next steps.

Ok, thank you. I’m really hoping it is just a delay and I did not somehow receive the NVC welcome email in my junk/spam folder and not know it was there until it got deleted after 30 automatically. The thought of starting this all over again is tough, it’s been 16 months so far.

About six weeks after my petition approval (NOA2), I received an email from NVC saying my case was being transferred to the US Embassy in my fiancé's country--so there was no real "welcome letter" as I was anticipating like you. I actually had the same panic about it getting cleared from my spam/junk folder because I assumed it would a mailed letter like the NOA2. My experience was really just a transfer letter (emailed and attached as a PDF). Hope this helps!

Update…..

Received response to my email inquiry on my case status via the NVC website:

You will be notified once this case is forwarded to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General.

So it hasn’t been sent to the Embassy yet. For reference my USCIS 129F was approved on June 18th

Update… received my email notice that my case was sent to the embassy. The email included my case number. I assume I will get my invoice number once the embassy receives my case? I know there is paperwork that I will need to upload once I have my case number and invoice number (NVC account access requires both).

@Sundevil70 thank you for posting this thread. We are feeling exactly like you are, waiting for an update. We received NOA2 on June 30. It has now been 48 days with no response from NVC. Per what it seems, there's a 60-days period before we will get an update. I will post here when we receive our NVC case number, with the stats on how long it took. We are now also 16-months into our I-129F Visa application. This takes an incredibly long time

K1 does not need NVC invoice number as there is no need to login to CEAC.  K1 do not upload documents to CEAC.
