this is crazy. every one with a noa2 dated august 15th seems to have received  their case numbers already. and we are still out here waiting. with no hopes yet. and to think that we used a law firm . but they never even communicate with us about anything.. and my fiancé who is the petitioner doesn’t want to call them , claiming he thinks we are putting them on pressure maybe they will get angry with us. am mentally exhausted...

My noa2 approved was August 15 2022

nvc research:  emailed NVC research  and got response on 10/11/2022 that NVC received my petition and will send detailed instructions soon

nvcstateInquiry: responded to my email from September 5 providing me my case number

From using the Julian calendar with my case number I was able to determine that NVC received my case September 17,2022 and created my case October 13,2022

NVC: Received an email today that my Case was sent to the consulate 10/21/2022

Anyone whose case is sent to Ankara Turkey know current wait time for visa interview from direct experience or from word of  mouth?

My NOA2 is Aug 24th but I don't have a case number yet.  Someone else from VisaJourney that recently scheduled an interview at the Ankara embassy stated that the earliest available appointments were in late January 2023. 😭  I didn't expect it to be that far away.  I will also be going through the Ankara embassy.

Hey, I was thinking the same thing!!  They got lucky.  There are people prior to August 15th that still haven't received a case number.

Hey, y'all.

I'm sorry if this is repetitive but I was wondering how most people are being contacted from NVC? I see most people are being contacted by email but I was wondering if maybe snail mail/ post office mail might be another way they are attempting to notify us, perhaps without an email?

Our NOA2 was August 18th. We still have yet to receive anything from NVC besides one email response to one my request to NVC research. They stated they had our petition and was still in process of assigning us a case number.

Trust me, if you want your case number you either wait for the letter from NVC sending it to the consulate or  email them for your case number. My "lawyer" is sleeping on my case I had to go and reach out for my information.

The wait times are far beyond anything I ever expected. At this point I'm thinking I should have just tried to stay in Turkey and did the marriage route. A complete waste of people's life is what it is. Now we have a daughter who is 5 months old and still hasn't met her dad. Plane tickets are outrageous to add to this complete nonsense. ABSURD!

I can't even imagine how much harder it is for you two, especially since you have a daughter.  They should expedite cases in those instances.  When we applied back in June 2021, I thought the wait times were gonna get better, not worse!  I, too, regret not going the marriage route.  I was actually living with my fiance in Turkey and came back to the U.S. in January 2022 because I stupidly assumed we would be done by May 2022.  Ugh, I really hope your petition gets shipped tomorrow.  I also hope Ankara opens up more interview slots because 3 months away is ridiculous! I was under the impression that the embassy wasn't backlogged.

Most people are being contacted via email, but someone I know told me that they were only notified by mail, which was frustrating to them because it turned out that their case had already been in transit for over 2-3 weeks.

Just got this message this morning from an email inquiry I requested on September 30th. This was a response from

TSGSystem@tsg.state.gov

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your inquiry. Our records do not show that we received your petition.

It can take up to six weeks for an approved petition from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to arrive at the National Visa Center (NVC). Once we receive it, we will enter your petition into the U.S. Department of State's database systems.

For current processing times, please visit our website at https://nvc.state.gov/timeframes for English andhttps://nvc.state.gov/plazos for Spanish. If your approved petition was sent to NVC later than the listed processing times, you do not need to take any action.

If your petition was approved before the dates NVC is working on, please send us a scanned copy of your I-797 or I-171 Notice of Action - Approval Notice.  You can attach it to an email and send it to nvcresearch@state.gov.

·           In the subject line of your email, please type only the receipt number from your I-797 Approval Notice.

·           If you have more than one petition, send a separate email for each petition

·           Once we receive the copy of your approval notice, we will contact USCIS to find your petition.

Before you send us an email, please check your Notice of Action and make sure it says your petition was approved and sent to NVC.  If it says that USCIS kept your petition, or if it is not an approval, contact USCIS for more information. You can contact them on their website at https://uscis.gov, or by telephone at 1-800-375-5283.

NVC research emailed me on October 3rd and said they DID have our petition. WHAT IS HAPPENING...

My case is finally being sent to the embassy!! Literal tears as the weight is lifted after such a long time.

God has really tested my patience and now it’s the home stretch.

Im praying the rest of you guys get emails with good news today as well!

noa 2 August 3rd

Actually looked at the case number and found they assigned the case number Sept 28th so they must have received it before the quoted date of Oct 4th from USCIS.
