(AOS) Do I need to inform USCIS about my passport renewal?

Hello everyone😃

I came to US with K-1 visa, and I have been waiting for the approval of AOS (EAD/AP and GC) now.

I wrote my husband's surname as my name when submitting AOS. But my passport information which I submitted, had my maiden name.

Recently I renewed my passport, which now has new passport number and new surname(my husband's name).

My Qs are:

1) Do I need to inform USCIS about my renewed passport? If yes, how and which address?

2) Is "passport number" going to show on EAD/AP or GC? If so, I am worried if my old passport number will be shown...

I really appreciate your help! Thank you!

NO to all

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Hi! Thanks for replying!

Could you explain a little bit more about why I don't need to inform USCIS please?

To put it bluntly, they don’t care about renewed passport information. They only care if you change your address and they require you to inform them if you move. They do not ask for your passport information to be updated. Passport numbers or any other info are not on EAD/AP/GC.

Because the passport number of your home country passport has no bearing on your process moving forward

Thank you for your precise reply. I understood that I don't need to tell them about my new passport.

So all I need to do now is to bring my old and new passports with me at the interview, correct?
