People advising filing the I-129F for spouse here are not thinking it will result in a K3 visa.  The purpose is to get the I-130 pulled out of queue and approved early.  Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn't.

do you recommended to send it? I read that the I-129F doesn't have an additional cost

No cost except the postage and paper.  Sending it does no harm and might speed things up.

Hi Paula!

I was in Colombia while we filed for my I-130.

1. We only sent affidavits, photos, flight itineraries, hotel reservations, and chat screenshots because that’s all we had.

2. I don’t think a lawyer is necessary; just take your time to do your research and ask for any doubts you might have.

3. No, my I-130 took 7 months to get approved, and then dealing with the U.S. embassy in Bogota + 4 months, altogether 11 months - a year!

Check out my website, there’s excellent information on what I did in Bogota for biometrics, medical appointment and interview review

It's I-129F, not I-129.  Attention to detail is critical in this process.  The only way to file the I-129f for spouse is by mail.  Be sure to download and study the instructions for the form, so it is completed for a spouse not fiancee and supporting documentation is for spouse also.  This includes a copy of the receipt for filing the I-130.

I understand. Thanks for the explanation.
