ARCO Police Certificate? (China)

My wife (Chinese) and I (US Citizen) are planning to apply for an IR-1/CR-1 soon.  We're going to go back to her home town to collect the notarial birth certificate, marriage certificate, and police certificate.  My wife saw somewhere that an ARCO police certificate specifically is required, but the USCIS website just says 'police certificate' and mentions going to the PSB, then the Gong Zheng Chu.

Does anyone know what ARCO is or what specific police certificate we need?

Thanks in advance

Never heard of ARCO.  PSB then Gong Zheng Chu is what you need, but I would not get the police certificate now.  Neither the police certificate or her notarial birth certificate (also from Gong Zheng Chu) is needed until several months later at the NVC stage.  Marriage book translated at Gong Zheng Chu is all that is needed to start the process, unless she's been divorced or you are also filing for a step child.

Get the Birth Certificate now if you want but the police report is only good for two years.  Good chance it will expire before her eventual interview in Guangzhou.

Do you mean ACRO?  That's where you get police certificates from the UK.  Has your wife ever lived in the UK?  If not, no need for ACRO police certificate.

A bit confused because the one we're gonna get they said it's only valid for a few months but you said 2 years.

The home country's validity date is irrelevant.  Consular Officers accept them up to two years from issue date.
