The NOA (797) came really fast.  But then I looked up online and saw the average processing time for my service center (Potomac) is 24 months !!!

The letter only gives a 24 month extension.

Should this be of concern?

I can't believe this takes this long.  It takes longer than her approval to come here.

What?  It's already time for her I-751?  Wow!  Time really flies.  We filed my wife's I-751 in March 2019.  We are still waiting.  We have gotten one ADIT stamp so that my wife could travel to Taiwan and back here.  It was easy.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

sometimes its faster to just apply for naturalization and get i-751 adjudicate at the same

24 months extension shouldnt be a problem.

cross the bridge when it happen. can always ask for ADIT stamp on passport too if ur i-751 wont get approved by then

Oh, I don't know what an ADIT stamp is, but I'll have 24 months to find out.  🙂

Thank you.  Good to know there are options.

LOL.  Nice to be remembered.  Yes, time flies.  Even I was surprised when my wife reminded me to file.

Sounds like I'm in for a long wait.  She will be ready to apply for naturalization before this is complete.

Not like skipping I-751 is an option but true that filing N400 will often help move things along.

OP - the hope is that 24 months will be sufficient but worse comes to worst, you'll call USCIS and ask for an infopass appointment to get your wife's passport stamped and extend her GC for another year.

What's the filing time for the N400?  The three year mark.

For N400 under the 3 year rule, the earliest filing date is 90 days minus your 3-year anniversary as a permanent resident.

Perfect.   THANK YOU!

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator Use this to find out the earliest date you can file. 90 days is NOT 3 months exactly. I also suggest filing a day or two AFTER the exact first eligible day, not right ON the first eligible day to avoid any possible glitches of day/times being misread by the system.
