Hi everyone,

Does submitting additional documents reset the clock after an FE? Im not talking about the documents that the FE asks for, but additional info.

For example, everything was accepted except one missing document.

My husband only submitted his 2019,2019,2020 tax info, and a signed letter stating 2021 wasn't available yet as he requested an extension as he lived out of country. It was all accepted.

However we do have a joint sponsor which submitted everything including 2021 which was accepted.

Im afraid that once they new the FE evidence I submitted 5 weeks ago, that they will now ask for my husbands 2021 tax info. Or should we be okay since our joint sponsor had there's?

Not sure about an FE, but submission of documents used to reset the clock.  Our case was at NVC for a total of 24 weeks because of that.  Your experience might be different.

your husband will need to file those 2021 taxes

and provide copy of the 1040 with his W2's,  any 1099 or 1099R or form 2555 for foreign income if any

per I 864 instructions page 8

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr.pdf

Item Numbers 23.a. - 25. Federal Income Tax Return Information. You must provide either an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year

Yes that is what we did for all the previous years that were accepted. It’s just we let them know we had an extension which was approved.

we recently just got back those taxes and just not sure if they need to be uploaded or not since my joint sponsors used hers.
I’m afraid if I put it in now it will push her Date further , since I sent the FE for the civil document in 6 weeks ago

IRS approving extension is not the same as immigration needing to see the most recent year (2021)

i would say the embassy will need to see 2021

If I submit it on ceac will it reset the clock from when I sent in my FE for something else?

Or do you think since docs are all accepted that they may just ask me to bring it to the interview ? (Which I will just in case)

I meant ceac accepted the letter showing the extension as to why we couldn’t submit our tax return in April, as we are overseas residents .

im just curious if I submit it now if it will reset the clock from when I sent in my FE document for a civil document 6 weeks ago

you can submit taxes when you are out of the country

many of us travel or live outside the US and we submit taxes

even if it means paper filing

and yes CEAC would accept but at interview,  the case will go into AP while they wait for u to get the 2021 tax papers

u are extending your own wait time (after the interiew) by not having them

We do submit our taxes every year but we always get them in before the June deadline for non resident citizens. We did not get our taxes started until May as we had to wait for ours. H&R block had to mail them in. The IRS just finished processing it and I now have the tax statement available online.

Many people on here in the spring have had to write a signed letter stating that they do not have their last year taxes ready due to the extension for living abroad.
I myself got my ir1 DQ with what we had submitted.
It’s just my daughters ir2 had an FE for a civil document, and I was just wondering if I should submit the 2021 tax statement while I’m at it since we’re under review again for the civil document.
