Hey community, I want to share my good news with you all but also share my experiences in case it is helpful to someone. I’ve benefited from lots of y’all so I’m happy to share.

a little about my case.
I got married in NY, got my conditional green card but divorced just before the 2 year mark so I had to file a divorce waiver. To make matters complicated, I fell in love again and remarried and had a son with my new wife. the time between my divorce and second marriage was 2 months. but my xwife and I separated about 11 months before the divorce was finalized.

I moved to the bay, got an rfe, responded and got an interview notice in San Francisco FO. The interviewer was very professional and made me feel confirmtabke. she wasn’t overly friendly or chat about anything other than the case. she asked lots of questions about my new marriage and it’s timeline. She also asked about the circumstance for our divorce.

These are the list of documents that I sent:
Joint tax return for the years we were married
joint back account (for about 5 minths)
joint investment account (about 10 months)
my 401K with her as beneficiary
joint hsa that shows my xwife as my beneficiary
phone lease contract unde my xwife’s name that show both numbers
phone bill for about a year (joint)
first lease with my xwife name on it- a letter from the landlord that I lived with her and reason my name is on it

second lease with only wife’s names on it and a signed affidavit of why I didn’t add my name to the lease and a reason for our initial separation

third joint lease with both names on it
email between us and the landlord for the third apartment
my ID with the address of the third apartment on it
my xwife mail in vote with the same address
Joint donations by me and my xwife to children international
joint donation by me and my xwife to The innocent project
donation by my xwife to the world food program
all these donations had tax documents and our shared address
my company documents showing my xwife as my wife and emergency contact
joint life insurance with each of us as beneficiary
joint accident insurance
joint health insurance
sworn affidavit  from my xwife talking about the validity of the marriage
sworn affidavit from my x father in law taking about the validity of the marriage
sworn affidavit from me, my brother and three other friends
vacations iterinary
joint electricity bill for our third apartment
earning states, w2 and tax returns with the same address
lots of pictures.

FYI I am African and from a country that is allegedly targeted by immigration
I however work in big tech and make over $400K.
I went with a lawyer and she was very helpful in preparing the rfe and during the interview.

below are the questions I was asked:

My full name, Do I have any nicknames
My DoB
Where I was born
My x-wife’s full Name
My wife’s  DOB
Date of first marriage
Date of divorce
Reason for divorce
What time were you separated
When did you move in together
How did you get the affidavit from your xwife
How did you get the affidavit from your x-father in law
Any other documents that you have
Date and reason for separation
List of places that you lived and the month and year you lived there
Current wife’s name and DoB
When did you marry your second wife
Name of  your son
DoB of son
Who is the mother of your son
Some followup questions based on the story I shared with her (me being home and spending more time than initially planned, why did I do that)

She made a copy of my marriage certificate (to my second wife)
She made copies of my ID and my second wife’s ID
She made copies of our home purchase documents - me and my second wife

She made copies of my sons birth certificate
