No Invoice ID from NVC - Can't upload documents in CEAC

Need help. I didn't receive any type of 'welcome letter' from NVC. They sent me an email (with attached) that stated the petition is being forwarded to the embassy.  The interview in Jakarta went well except for 1 document that didn't have an official stamp.  We need to upload it in CEAC.  To upload in CEAC we need a NVC invoice ID?   I tried calling NVC but they are not taking calls now because of their backlog.  So now what?  Would the embassy have the NVC invoice ID?  Would it make sense to call them?  See attached from the email I received from NVC.  Also, I need to update my timeline and will do so shortly.   Thanks for help.

Regards,

Allan

You don't need an invoice id for ceac account. Your case number should be sufficient.

Yeah, I had looked at those. When I type in the case ID that starts with JAK then the invoice ID field appears. It is a not null field. I gave a screenshot in a previous response. The documents I am uploading are for the embassy. The embassy in Jakarta is saying to upload on CEAC. Stuck.

The threads have the correct link to check your case. You do not need to sign in/create an account. All you need is your case number , that is it.

K-1 is technically a non-immigrant visa and have no access to upload documents to CEAC. The screenshot you are showing applies to spousal visas, not K-1s.

Were you actually told "upload this to CEAC" or did you assume that is what you need to do? Usually any additional documents needed after a K-1 interview would go directly to the consulate where the interview occurred.

Also if you are unsure what to do, you need to call or email the consulate (not NVC) because they are the ones requesting this additional document right?

There's no way for you to upload something to CEAC since this is only a thing for spousal visas. They do get the required numbers from NVC.

K1 is a non-immigrant visa and NVC does nothing with them but assign a case number and forward to the embassies. You won't get an invoice number from NVC even if you could reach them.

You have to contact your embassy and ask how to send them the document directly since CEAC is not a viable path for you.

I think you may have misunderstood something about this process.  K-1s do not upload documents to CEAC.

Hmm I understand the confusion here I just went through it a few weeks ago. Let's break it down clearly and correct me if I am wrong.

-K1 will only use the ceac website to submit ds160 and check status

-You will upload no documents through this system as K1

-You do not need an invoice number as K1 that is only for "immigrant visas" and K1 is treated in that system as "non-immigrant"

Other confusions for me was this:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html

They will direct you to this if you dig deep enough and it is for immigrant visas .... NOT K1

You will pay no fees and submit no documents to ceac for K1.
