No email, just a status change on CEAC.. Mine went to "Refused" on the day of the interview. I replied back to the consulate for the AP 2 days later, and today It looks like someone viewed my filed but no status changed.

Oh okay I don't know why I thought I'd get an email regarding with my application. I'm just bummed out getting the 221g form, I didn't think I would be waiting more than 2 weeks but from what I've read in this thread it seems like I'll be waiting a minimum of 4-6 weeks 😔.

I hear ya. I'm only a week in, and happy I got the 221g back within 48 hours. However, you know how hard it was to finish the 15 year of travel history.. "Headbang" Good Luck!

Hi, I sent my passport along with some documents to the consulate and received an email confirming the receipt of the documents. After that the date of the case last update on my CEAC visa status has not changed (the last update is on 27th September which I believe is due to my updated medical exam), is this normal? Shouldn't it be updated after receiving the documents? What does it mean? Have they not checked my file and documents yet?

Got DS5535 at the interview and sent my information back on the same day. 

Status Updates:

(I had more updates between January and June, but I did not keep a record of them.)

Finally today Nov. 16, 2022 it changed to ISSUED! 

 

We thought about filing WOM and had a consultation with one of the lawyers suggested here. We decided not to after the consultation. If you have any questions for me, I am happy to answer! 

 

Here's my question if any of you can answer:

Once I receive my passport, can I cross the border and come back to Canada to take care of things here? Or is it a single entry visa that I can cross only once?

Once I receive my passport, can I cross the border and come back to Canada to take care of things here? Or is it a single entry visa that I can cross only once?

Visa is a multiple entry but now you need to watch the clock on dates outside US ..

Congratulations!! 

From my understanding you are able to enter the US to activate the green card and to make sure you're not late with entering since it is dependent on the date on your medical. But you are able to handle your errands and prepare for your move to America. All the best!

So without WOM is it taking roughly a year? Its almost 6 months since my interview..if they guarantee me Ill get in another 6 months time I do not mind waiting lol. This is depressing, I am writing this from the US, been visitng for few months but leaving back to canada till I get my visa:(. We have a baby I wish they took those things into consideration..

It's starting to look this way. I don't think it's guaranteed but I'm really hoping waiting a yearish is the magic ticket for some of us. I've been in AP close to 9 months now. Feeling hopeful there's a possibility of getting out without WOM.

Yea I hear you  but who knows - maybe yours might take less than mine. We have a 3 year old (and a second one on the way) and I thought of the same thing! Why?!

Got a email saying my processing was completed, and at the same time got a message on my WOM case that there was a appearance by the Defendant, so looks like the law suit did have a affect on them completing my processing, took like ~1 month since the filling

 

Heading back to Canada next week to get my passport stamped and finally heading back to to US after 6 month. Did an estimate that overall i have spent/lost close to ~$35-40k, 6k on suit, ~3 months of lost wages (on leave of absence), ~1 month of hotels/airbnb in Canada, Flights tickets to and back from Canada (~$2000) and my home country. All while still paying for rent/car/utilities back in US

My visa now said ISSUED on Nov. 16! I cannot believe it! I first submitted my I-130 Jan 2020 and it was sent to NVC September 2020. My interview was November 2021 and I was issued the dreaded DS5535 and they requested a resume. After exactly a year and some odd days, I finally received an issued status. Some of you might be aware that my last update was Jan. 7, 2022 but in October I sent and email. In the email I explained that I received no updates for more than 10 months and I wanted to raise attention to my case and asked for a just and fair review. This worked for me because soon after, I started receiving 5 new updates and two weeks ago they requested a new medical, passport photos and my passport and I didn't go through with WoM. 

 

I completely understand the hopelessness you all feel in this process and I wish you all the best, especially @ice-qube and @BatmanFlow although your mom is also nearing the end of this process too!
