The marriage certificate will be the legal document certifying your marriage. However immigration wise, it's considered legal marriage only when you two consummate, that is only after you two meet in person after online marriage. You can only file for i130 after you two meet in person post marriage. No need to worry about the legitimacy of the marriage.

However you do need to provide evidences of bonafide relationship. Look into the guidelines in this forum and you will see a bunch of recommendations.

Getting married in Nepal and getting marriage certificate from CDO takes almost a month. so do you think US citizen can visit Nepal and do online UTAH marriage while in nepal and get the marriage certificate. or do online utah marriage when in US and then visit Nepal to meet and spend some time and then later file I130.

You can do either.

As said, one can go either way however just note that the traditional marriage in Nepal carries a lot of weight in terms of bonafide marital relationship in the eyes of CO there. So if you are doing online utah marriage, it is still fine but make sure you have other good evidences of bonafide relationship.

Plan is to just do Legal marriage in order to start the process with USCIS and then later in US do Nepali style traditional marriage. because of Limited time I think Utah marriage will be quick and easy.

I'm the OP, I traveled to meet my wife at a hotel and we got married via Zoom together. Right now our case was approved and it's on the NVC. So yes, you'll be more than fine. It's also easier to have the Marriage certificate in plain English instead of having to translate it.

Yeah definitely go for it but if asked during the interview do not say  "then later in US do Nepali style traditional marriage" cuz it will create more doubt on the intent of your utah marriage. "We'll have wedding reception/celebration later in the US" will be appropriate as one can have multiple celebrations but cannot have multiple marriages without divorcing first.

My point was just to have a bit more of other evidences as well if you go thru utah marriage.

I130 uscis is the easiest part. Visa interview requirements could be much different for different countries as COs know the system of the country well. Not that it matters but the marriage certificate from Nepal will be in both local and English language on the same page and so translation won't be required.

Sounds like an actual traditional wedding in Nepal will delay filing the I-130 by a couple months, Yes, the zoom wedding will make the marriage quicker, easier, and maybe less expensive, but the traditional path in Nepal carries a lot of weight with Consular Officers AND family.

You don't just want to get married.  You want to live happily ever after in the USA too.  Consider your priorities carefully.
