interview Casablanca

Hi VJ's,

Today I (USC) received an email from the consulate in Casablanca that tells me the date of the interview  and lists all the forms and papers that my fiance has to take to the interview. It asks me to notify my fiance. DOes this mean that he is not going to get a packet in the mail? There is no "checklist", just a list of documents. Is this the checklist he is supposed to bring with him to the interview? It doesn't mention that he should bring any documentation to prove an ongoing relationship ie. photos, emails, chat logs, etc. But he is going to take them anyway. It doesnt ask to bring any proof of financial support either? I know that Casablanca doesn't ask for the affidavit of support I-134. But shouldn't they ask to bring a proof of support? Is he going to get anything else before the interview?

Another concern that I have is that my fiance is addressed as a woman : His name is preceded by "Ms." and it says "her" appointment and "her " medical examination. :crying:

Should I do anything to correct this mistake? Or should I ignore it? Can my fiance send the consulate an email to clarify that he is a male?

Thanks for your help

I would email the consulate about the gender issue and also ask about the packet. You may want to address these in seperate emails so you will get both answered. I have heard that the applicant can go to the consulate to get a packet if they have not recieved theirs in the mail.

Even though the consulate doesn't mention anything about bringing proof of the relationship to the interview make sure your fiance does.

Good Luck!

Also everything in the packet is available online or by email EXCEPT the letter needed with the interview date which is needed to get inside the consulate. If your fiance does not get the letter for the interview, an email fromthe consulate stating the date and time will suffice.

Thank you so much for your replies. After i posted on visa journey, I received an email form the consulate that is a reply to a previous email i had sent them asking them about the status of my petition. This time they have my fiance's gender right and they say that they mailed the packet on july 17th, the same day that I received the email telling me to inform my fiance. I still don't have it clear if they are referring to the email or that they actually mailed a packet on the same day. I told my fiance to download everything from the government website just in case he doesn't get the packet.

I forgot to mention that the email they sent me has the doctors' list attached and the security information about what to do once my fiance arrives at the consulate. Also they tell me to download the forms from the government site. That's why I am not too sure that they mailed a packet. Most of the information in the email would be redundant. The interview date is August 15. Knowing the slowness of the Moroccan postal service, my fiance cannot wait to get the packet to start doing what he has to do. Maybe that is why they sent me the email with all the information...

Anybody has had a similar experience?

Thank you and I wish you all a very happy journey with a very happy ending

Hi - this happened to my husband and I .... I simply responded to the email that Casa sent to me with stars in the subject line after our case number (to draw attention to it) and I added to the subject -- have interview date need to confirm something*****

Then in the email I asked them to confirm that my husband would not be receiving a packet # == if i were you i would also address the gender issue here.!!!! you dont want to give them any reason to turn your fiance away!

I sent the email off and it was actually returned that day -- i know -- dont fall over!!!

They responded - your husband will not be receiving a packet #3 -- this email is to be used in place of the packet #3. please have your husband print it and bring it with him to the interview...

So - we did and he had no issues whatsoever!!

Good Luck!

HI Malarie,

Thank you so much. So this is the way they do it now. Why don't they state that clearly?

I did exactly what you told me and now I hope they reply soon to confirm that my fiance will not receive a packet. Also I hope they fix the gender problem. I hate to send them too many emails. I don't want to upset them in any way.
