This is the issue when a person isn't familiar with Philippines, just like some other person asked what is CFO.

Biggest issue in my opinion once you get married you are on record in Philippines as married, you go back to PI catting around, or after divorce and your wife or x-wife or their family call cops on your for adultery, then here you go to jail.

Like what?  We married there without incidence and I also have two friends who did and one that is planning on it next year. What is the risk?

You ever go back catting around, you could be arrested for adultery.  Get married in the USA, and you don't have to worry about it.

Plus having to bribe people to get things done, as you freely admitted to:   " You need to do the family planning seminar or get out of it like we did.  We brought treats for the local office"

Welcome to corruption 101.

I don't think most western guys are looking to get divorced or catting around.

I do get your point as to there being an option to divorce in the US where there isn't in PH. PH does have options to separate from a spouse so you can marry again though. Both parties have to agree to it from my understanding.

Actually we brought treats for the office and both of us had adult children so we probably didn’t need the treats. I don’t consider it a bribe and the corruption is the same everywhere in the world. I don’t believe the ₽500 ($10) was really that much of a bribe for 5 people in the office but whatever.

You truly sound like a person who has never visited there and have been following the islands through Tinder posts.

I guess for you the fact that is IS has divorce and you can sleep around with anyone you want to is a good thing. I personally never felt the need to go catting around the Philippines but I know many married Filipinos with children with multiple partners and they have never once even been questioned by the police so I’m not sure that adultery is something that will even raise an eyebrow there. I’ve been there 15 to 20 times and yes, it is a different culture but I’ve never experience any of these challenges that you seem to believe exist. If the fact that you can’t cheat on your spouse and they don’t have divorce there is really a concern then definitely stay away.

Just per your statement of : "You need to do the family planning seminar or get out of it like we did.  We brought treats for the local office."

It would be considered a bribe, No biggie I was just pointing it out to you.

I just got back from the I spent my first few days in Makati at Red Planet, Right around the corner there is Burgos Street, I was amazed how many guys I met not so much from USA were there catting around a few days before they went to see thier wife or Fiance in the province.

Never heard in my life that both parties can agree to seperate or and get married again in the Philippines, that information is false.

Yep, I was there.  That same thing here would have cost a lot more than $10.  The Catholic Church we planned on using for our K-1 US marriage wanted thousands just for the Priest and the "electricity costs".  Luckily we were denied and I was able to get married there.  The Philippines is as corrupt as anywhere else in the world.  Here that corruption is much more expensive.

Post wasn't directed at you, it was in general.  You run a risk if divorced to be arrested due to the fact your name is on a national marriage list in the Philippines, if you had family who wanted to turn you in.

I have no clue what tinder is, I have been to Philippines countless trips.

That is their personality flaw and how many are in jail?

When did I say they can get married again in the Philippines.  Having children doesnt require marriage.  My wife's sister bus still married to a man she hasn't seen in 18 years.  She has kids with other men and he has kids with other women.  Neither was ever arrested for adultery and they are still married to each other.

I hear you, I am just surprised someone would come out on public forum and admit the engaged in corruption.  I figured it was against the rules here : " Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method"

It is true there is no divorce there and it is hypocritical for sure.  No doubt about that.
