Just reading about K4 visa

Status: I'm a US citizen, Spouse in the USA with CR1 visa, has green card, SSN etc. Will request IR1 in 2023. Spouse has son in Vietnam under 18, unmarried. Filed I130 for him to immigrate to USA in March 2022. He was included in the original I130 filed to get her US visa but did not file for him. Should have filed for both at the same time but this immigration process is discovery learning.

Question: Can I file a K4 application so that he can come to the US while awaiting the outcome of the I130 and subsequent required filings? If so, when can I start that process? After the I130 is approved or sooner?

The immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money.  You need to file an I-130 and request an expedite.  There is no K-3....therefore, no K-4.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

No, you will go through a process called "Removal of Conditions".  Start studying now, so you discover everything in advance.
